Raw materials
NOVONOL acetone
Highly volatile technical solvent with a specific smell. Acetone is a clear liquid used primarily in the coatings industry as a solvent for resins and especially nitro/nitrocellulose paints. It also dissolves neoprene and adhesive residue.
NOVONOL butyl acetate
(n-Butyl acetate; Acetic acid n-butyl ester)
Butyl acetate is a clear, moderately volatile liquid with a characteristic odor of ester. It is miscible with all conventional solvents such as alcohols, ketones, aldehydes, ethers, glycols, glycol ethers, aromatic hydrocarbons and aliphatic hydrocarbons. Its solubility in water is limited.
NOVONOL butyldiglycol
Butyl Diglycol is a clear, non-volatile, mobile liquid with a very faint, mild odor. It is miscible with many common solvents, e.g. with aliphatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, ketones, aldehydes, ethers, glycols, glycol ethers and water. In contact with atmospheric oxygen it can form peroxides.
NOVONOL butyl glycol
High-boiling, non-volatile liquid with a mild odor used as a solvent and starting material for syntheses. Excellent co-solvent in aqueous coating systems (water-based paints).
NOVONOL Cyclohexanone
Colorless liquid with a characteristic ketone-like odour. Cyclohexanone is miscible with most organic solvents.
NOVONOL methoxypropyl acetate
Medium volatile solvent with a mild odour. Contains no hydroxyl groups and has good dissolving power for many resins and dyes. Its main uses are in coatings and printing inks, where in many cases it can replace ethoxyethyl acetate.
